This Weekend in Madison
February, here we come!
Don’t let the cold and snow keep you from enjoying Madison in the winter. Here are some ideas to get you out and about this weekend.
Start the weekend right with First Friday on Monroe Street. Between 4 p.m. – 8 p.m. head down to Monroe Street for First Friday! This monthly event is a great way to explore the shops and restaurants in the area and enjoy the unique culture of the city.
The Clean Lakes Alliance Frozen Assets Festival at the Edgewater and Lake Mendota takes place February 4th and 5th. This two-day festival is perfect for all ages and festival attendees can see skydiving, figure skating, dance, speed skating, science, and large show kite demonstrations. Festival goers can also try pond hockey, snowshoeing, and skating. And it’s FREE!
Warm up on February 4th with the annual Souper Bowl at Madison West High School from noon-4 p.m. This event benefits Habitat for Humanity and for $25, participants receive a bowl and a hearty bowl of soup. Families of four can eat for $50, plus two bowls.
If warm and tropical is what you are after, explore the Orchid Escape at the Olbrich Botanical Gardens in the Bolz Converatory. This event will feature orchid displays, orchid presentations, orchid sales, and much more. It’s the perfect way to dream of the spring that will come.
So if you’re looking for something to do on the first weekend of February 2023, Madison has plenty of exciting events for you to enjoy!
