
June is Dairy Month
Celebrate the farming heritage of Wisconsin and the cows that have made us America’s Dairyland during June Dairy Month. Here are some ways to celebrate:
Cows on the Concourse:
Saturday June 4th on the Capitol Square is the 41st Cows on the Concourse. There will be LIVE cows, grilled cheese and of course, milk. Live music, a fitness zone, scavenger hunt, is also planned from 8 a.m.- 1:00 p.m.
Dane County Breakfast on the Farm:
The Dane County Breakfast on the farm is Saturday June 11th from 7 a.m.-11:00 a.m. at the Haag family dairy farm! Learn about dairy farming, meet a variety of animals, check out large machinery and educational displays, take a wagon ride, get your face painted, all while enjoying tasty dairy product samples. The breakfast menu includes pancakes, cheesy scrambled eggs, sausage, cheese, yogurt, ice cream, coffee and milk. The Haag Family Farm is located at 6868 Buethin Rd. in Dane, WI
Celebrate National Cheese Day:
June 4th is National Cheese Day! Explore some of the locally owned cheese makers and artisans such as:
Fromagination – 12 S. Carroll St., open 10-a.m.-6p.m. daily, closed Sundays and Mondays.
Wisconsin Cheese Mart, 119 State Street, open daily from 11 a.m.-6 p.m., closed Tuesdays.
Ehlenbach’s Cheese Chalet, 4879 Cty Rd. V, DeForest, WI, open daily 8 a.m.- 7 p.m.
