Earth Day!
It’s a birthday!!!
Just over 50 years ago, Earth Day was born! At the time, there was no EPA, no environmental laws and no conservation measures in place. But in April 1970, Wisconsin Senator Gaylord Nelson created earth day, which is still celebrated every year on April 22nd.
Around the country there are celebrations to raise awareness of Mother Earth and the pollution that is killing the planet. So, how can you help?
It doesn’t take much effort or time or money! Here are a few things you can do to celebrate Earth Day.
-Plant a tree, or any plant for that matter
-Take a walk around your neighborhood and pick up trash
-Running errands? Ride your bike today instead of taking your car.
-Reduce, reuse, recycle
-Conserve water, a most precious resource
-Don’t use plastic for one day, then another, then another…
There are lots of little ways to make a big impact. Tell me what are you doing for Earth Day today?
