Can you buy or sell a house during a pandemic? You bet! Here are some of the ways an expert Realtor handles these unusual times.
Only qualified buyers will be shown available homes, and only primary decision makers will be allowed at the showing. No kids. No parents. No friends. This keeps foot traffic through your home to a minimum and ensures that only serious buyers are shown your home.
During showings, all available precautions will be taken to keep contact to a minimum. Masks/shoe covers will be worn by anyone entering your home and hand sanitizer will be provided. I encourage sellers to leave cabinet and closet doors open, and to have lights turned on prior to a showing, so that fewer surfaces will be touched. “Virtual showings”, where only the agent is present in the home is also possible. Our technology is amazing and “virtual showings” can take place via FaceTime, Zoom, or Facebook video chat. In fact, my first completely virtual transaction has already closed and both buyers and sellers are thrilled!
Digital options are more popular now than ever! There is technology at my disposal that allows for a more virtual marketing experience. In some cases, an entirely virtual one! Online virtual 3D tours are a great way for buyers to view homes without ever setting foot inside of them. In some cases, homes have been sold without a single in-person showing! It happens!
With electronic options for forms, contracts, and earnest money, you never have to worry about touching pens and paper, or making trips into an office to sign documents or drop off earnest money checks. Everything can be done electronically, keeping you safe, and saving trees!
