So, you thinking about moving to Madison, Wisconsin? Good choice – this city is seriously amazing, with tons of amazing neighborhoods to choose from. Each one has its own character and charm, so you’re sure to find a place that’s perfect for you.

But with so many options, how do you decide which neighborhood is right for you? Never fear, I can help with that! I call Madison home and I know all the niches and nuances of the neighborhoods. Here area few of my favorites!

  1. The Vilas Neighborhood: Located just south of the University of Wisconsin-Madison campus, this area is known for its beautiful mansions, tree-lined streets, and close proximity to all the action. Plus, it’s just a short walk to the Henry Vilas Zoo (free!) and Lake Wingra. It is also a short walk to Monroe St. where you can find nearly anything you want. From local shops, coffee houses and restaurants, there is something for everyone.
  2. The Near West Side: This trendy neighborhood is located just west of downtown and is home to the Westmorland and Sunset Village neighborhoods. The area has several neighborhood parks, a local public golf course (The Glen) and is within close proximity to Hilldale Mall, a true destination. A mix of small starter homes and larger houses, you are sure to find a good fit in this neighborhood. a vibrant arts and music scene. With its mix of historic houses and new developments, there’s something for everyone in the Near West Side.
  3. The Regent Neighborhood: Located just west of campus, the Regent Neighborhood is known for its family-friendly atmosphere and easy access to parks, schools, and shopping. It’s a great place to raise a family or just settle into a quiet, suburban life.
  4. The Bay Creek Neighborhood: Located on the south of the capitol, the Bay Creek Neighborhood is known for its beautiful parks and trails, as well as its diverse housing options. From charming craftsman houses to modern apartments, you’ll find something to love in Bay Creek.
